Schooling doesn't assure employment but skill does

In India, less than 10% people get skill trainings and only 2% gets a formal skill training compared to 80% plus in developed countries. Here skill development refers to the identification of skill gaps and developing the existing skills to enable a person to achieve his/her career goals. Indian youth lack the necessary skills and there is a vast gap between the skills existing in a person and the skills demanded by the industry.

Hence un-employability has become bigger problem than un-employment in India. As per the survey records skill development is much more important for Indian economy as 60% or more Indian graduates might be good academically but they do not have right skills to get employed or be self-employed. Hence we encourage youth to get relevant skills before they graduate and start looking for an employment. We are adopting two approaches to make the youth skilled and employable ECP Skill training Centers of us in various locations in various forms.

Social Venture Philanthropy

Social venture philanthropy (SVP) is a high-engagement and long-term approach whereby an investor for impact supports a social purpose organization (SPO) such as ours to help it maximize the social impact. It is a form of investment funding that is usually funded by a group of social venture capitalists or an impact investor to provide seed-funding investment, usually in a for-profit social enterprise, in return to achieve a reasonable gain in financial return while delivering social impact to the public.

ECP Trust has evolved a working model Social Venture Philanthropy which is based on the successful business model of “Venture Capital”. It is a successful business concept to the social and development sector like us. A concept which pertains to linking social investment strategies to charitable giving with a clear focus on achieving scalability and sustainability, creating a culture of leadership and excellence and inculcating a deep sense of accountability amongst the nonprofits.

ECP Trust underscores the fact that helping is not simply a matter of dispersing money but of making a deep, long-term commitment and casting a hard eye on results. Under the model of SVP, ECP Trust identifies handholds and builds capacities of genuine grassroots NGOs to achieve accountability, sustainability, scalability, leadership. Through the model of SVP, Our Trust makes an effort to broad base investment in order to maximize its reach and optimize returns by approaching and strengthening a large number of like-minded individuals and organizations locally and globally.
